Hello there! I’m Chloë, founder of The Cyclical Path.
I’m a menstrual cycle coach. I support people to reconnect with, and find alignment with, their menstrual cycle.
If you have ever wondered why you feel energetic one week and exhausted the next, questioned whether your PMS, periods or cramps are normal, wondered what the different phases of your menstrual cycle are and what happens in each, or questioned how to deal with changing or shifting cycles, you are not alone. In fact, if you have ever had any question about your menstrual cycle, trust me, you are not the first person to have thought it! We just don’t talk about periods and menstrual cycles very often… Well, I am here to change that!
Growing up in the UK, I received next to no education on my menstrual cycle and was led to believe it was something which should remain a closely guarded secret, something to keep hidden. During my teens, I paid little attention to my cycle, only stopping to notice how awkward, inconvenient and embarrassing my period was. I then spent my twenties on the hormonal contraceptive pill, controlling my body in a way that allowed me to live my life with far less inconvenience, but also in complete disconnect with the natural rhythm of my body.
When I stopped taking the pill at the start of my thirties, I felt lost! I hadn’t had a natural menstrual cycle or period for such a long time, and I didn’t know how to live in a body that cycled through four unique phases each month. My cycles became irregular - the complete opposite to being on the pill when my bleed came like clockwork - and this confused and alienated me from my body.
Without really knowing what I was doing, I started tracking my cycle in a bit more detail than just noting when my period came. I was amazed to realise how each day of my cycle was different - physically, mentally and emotionally. That was when my interest in menstrual cycle awareness really began! As I learned more, I discovered that understanding each phase of my cycle, and knowing what to expect, gave me a sense of freedom and a deeper appreciation for my cyclical body. I was also able to adapt my plans, routines and expectations according to how I knew I would be feeling. For the first time in my life, I was listening to my body, not working against it! And soon enough, my cycle became regular again.
Now, I work with others to help them move towards acceptance and love for their bodies, and that cyclical path they walk each month.
My story
Who do I work with?
I work with anyone who has experienced a menstrual cycle (whether they currently have a cycle or not). Here are some examples of people who might find working with me most helpful:
People currently on hormonal contraception seeking to understand more about, and wishing to connect with, their menstrual cycle.
Someone planning to come off, or who has recently come off, hormonal contraception and wants to learn how to find a rhythm with their natural menstrual cycle (again).
People on a mission to learn more about the phases of the menstrual cycle, how best to track their cycle, or the best way to cycle-sync.
Anyone who currently does not have a menstrual cycle (for whatever reason) who wants to find their cyclical path again - even if their periods don’t return just yet!
People struggling with an aspect of their menstrual cycle (such as irregular cycles, period pain, PMS, or a menstrual disorder) who would like to better understand how to support their minds and bodies.
Someone who is approaching, or experiencing, perimenopause who wants to understand their changing cycles and think about the path ahead to menopause.
What will working with me involve?
Everyone’s journey is unique, and together we will formulate a path depending on your needs, wants and intentions. We will work to ensure we use our time together in the best possible way. As an idea, we could cover subjects such as:
How to track your menstrual cycle in a way that provides the best insights for you personally.
What the four phases of the menstrual cycle mean for you, and what adaptations you can make to support yourself through these cyclical changes.
How to start to interpret your body’s symptoms to understand what it is trying to tell you and how you can respond to this.
Where in your cycle you feel your best and where you need more love and support, and what you can do to make sure you get the best out of each day.
How other aspects of your life are impacting your body and your cycle and what changes you might be able to make to improve your energy, mood and symptoms.
“Chloë taught me so much about my cycle as well as how to tune into my body to understand my needs in each menstrual cycle phase. I learnt so many things about myself, including how to challenge my own thinking, thanks to her gentle and practical guidance. I cannot recommend Chloë’s coaching services enough!”
